Day 1 Make your own way to the airport for the direct flight to Montréal. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a two-night stay.
Day 2 Join our optional city tour this morning for an introduction to Montréal’s main attractions. The afternoon is at leisure, for sightseeing and shopping in Canada’s second largest city, with its elegant blend of history, art and architecture This evening you can enjoy a taste of Old French Canada with our optional Le Festin du Gouveneur dinner show.
Day 3 Depart Montréal and travel north to Québec City. The afternoon and evening are at leisure to explore this most European of North American cities, crowned by the impressive Château Frontenac. Later in the evening board ‘The Ocean’ service for the overnight rail journey to Maritimes. Relax on board as you are whisked through hundreds of miles of Canadian landscape.
Day 4 Arrive at Amherst station in New Brunswick, then travel across eight miles of the Confederation Bridge, the world’s longest bridge across ice-covered water, linking the mainland with Prince Edward Island. At the foot of the bridge lies Gateway Village where we will stop for our introduction to Prince Edward Island before continuing to Summerside for a one-night stay. This evening you can sample the local cuisine with our optional lobster supper excursion.
Day 5 Today we begin our exploration of Prince Edward Island with a journey along the north shore coast of Canada’s smallest and greenest province. There will also be included visits to Prince Edward Island National Park, including a guided tour of the park and sand dunes, and the Green Gables Heritage Site, the inspiration for the setting of the classic novel ‘Anne of Green Gables’. A visit to Rustico Harbour and the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company completes the day, before arriving in Charlottetown, the capital of the province, for a one-night stay.
Day 6 Depart Prince Edward Island by ferry for Caribou in Nova Scotia province and onwards to the lakeside village of Baddeck for a two-night stay.
Day 7 Situated on the beautiful Bras d’Or Lakes, Baddeck is the gateway to the Cabot Trail, noted for its spectacular ocean views which can be enjoyed on our scenic drive today.
Day 8 Depart Baddeck via the Bras d‘Or Lakes and the historic colonial towns of Truro and Port Hawkesbury and travel to Halifax, the cosmopolitan capital of Nova Scotia, for a one-night stay.
Day 9 A morning drive to the attractive town of Lunenburg, established in 1753 as the first British colonial settlement in Nova Scotia outside of Halifax. We then continue to Halifax airport for the overnight flight to the UK.
Day 10 Arrival in the UK.
