Disney award Travelscope ‘Leisure Group Operator of the Year’ Back

An annual and prestigious title, ‘Leisure Group Operator of the Year’ acknowledges the successful working relationship between Disney and Travelscope and the commitment and hard work of their teams.

Tim Fleming, Group Organiser at Travelscope was delighted with the result. When presented with a statue of Mickey Mouse to mark the occasion, he said: “I’m really proud of our working ethos and relationship with Disney.” He added: “It’s truly an honour to receive this award and today serves as a testament to the hard work and professionalism of our team.

Tony Lincoln, Head of Sales Promotion - Trade at Disney also said: “We’ve built up a great working relationship with Travelscope over the last 15 years and feel this award recognises the commitment they’ve made to help us grow our business, particularly during our 15th birthday celebrations this year.”

Travelscope receive a big thank you from Disneyland® Resort Paris for being a key working partner and true ambassador for the resort over the last 15 years.

To celebrate its 15th anniversary, a number of representatives from Travelscope were invited to join over 2,600 UK and European travel agents and tour operators for a fun and educational weekend at Disneyland® Resort Paris.

During the familiarisation trip, Travelscope was presented with yet another award, adding to the company’s growing collection of accolades, which recognised the company’s help in organising the weekend, as well as its dedication to making Disneyland® Resort Paris a top tourist destination in Europe.

A key partner of Disneyland® Resort Paris, Travelscope’s Managing Director, Richard Ford, was presented with a bronze statue of Mickey Mouse to mark the occasion. He said: “I am delighted to be here today and proud of our contribution to this memorable weekend. I am thrilled our work and commitment over the past 15 years has been recognised.” He added: “This is proof of our increasing strength in the market and I would like to say thank you to everyone at Travelscope who made this happen.”

Association of Reader Travel 2007 Awards

For the second year running, Travelscope scooped two major accolades at the prestigious Association of Reader Travel (ART) Conference, held in Blackpool on Friday 2nd March.

At the annual black tie event, attended by national tour operators, newspapers and publishers in the reader travel industry, Travelscope were presented with awards for 'Best Website' and 'Best Quality of Brochures'. Winning more awards than any other Tour Operator, Travelscope yet again reaffirmed its reputation for superb escorted holidays and reinforced its leading position in the reader holiday market.

Managing Director, Richard Ford, said: "This once again demonstrates Travelscope's commitment to the travel industry and recognises the work we are doing to develop our website and make not only finding, but booking a holiday easier than ever before. Our range of holidays just keeps getting bigger and better, with emphasis still on value for money and quality; long may this continue." Voted for by the media partners themselves, the awards were particularly poignant as they directly reflect the opinions of key industry figures.

Tour Operator of the Year 2006

ART's members are drawn from regional and national newspapers through the UK. Each individual is responsible for arranging and promoting a full range of holidays in their newspaper titles - and they need to ensure the operators they choose to work with are reputable bonded companies offering great value-for-money.

Best Long-Haul Group Tour Operator 2006

At the Group Travel Organiser Awards Dinner at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, Travelscope won its third major national award in as many years when it was presented with the Best Long Haul Tour Operator for Groups. The award was made following a vote by group travel organisers from throughout the U.K. It comes as recognition not only of the hard work of all the staff at Travelscope but also of the respect and loyalty shown towards the company by the people that really matter, the group organisers themselves.

Best Place to Work Award 2006

Travelscope have been awarded with the Best Place to Work in Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds at the 2006 Cotswold Life Business Awards Presentation. The award, sponsored by Rickerbys, was made following a vote by a panel of judges for the Cotswold Life Magazine, and was presented at the Awards Ceremony held at Berkeley Castle on 27th July. The nomination for the award followed the completion of the £5.6 million relocation to the brand new state-of-the-art headquarters in Gloucester Business Park. The pleasant working environment, opportunity to travel and close-knit feeling amongst staff were listed as reasons that contributed to the win.

Travelscope Leads the Line

In a highly competitive field Travelscope picked up yet another piece of silverware this year - the Stena Line ‘Tour Operator of the Year for 2004/2005’ award. Over 7,500 Travelscope passengers traveled with Stena Line in 2004 alone, with the final projected total putting us way ahead of all other UK tour operators, and securing our company this prestigious award in the process.

Travelscope Top of the Tree!

At a function hosted by the German National Tourist Office, the Rüdesheim Christmas Market Association presented Travelscope with the Outstanding Achievement Award in recognition of the UK tour operator’s sterling work in the Christmas Markets sector. Over the last decade, Travelscope has carried just under a quarter of a million passengers to Christmas Markets holidays throughout Europe, with over 65,000 of those passengers travelling to Rüdesheim itself.

Business of the Year Award 2004

Travelscope won the prestigious Business of the Year Award at the Gloucestershire Business Awards announced at a gala evening sponsored by HSBC Bank.
This is a major achievement for the company. On top of the many travel industry awards we have won over the years, this is the first time we have been recognised by the wider business community.
