See the principal places of interest on foot including the Castillo de San Anton with historical displays. See the San Carlos Gardens, Plaza de Azcarraga with its lovely stone fountain and admire the typical 19th century buildings with their glazed balconies. After passing the town beachs of Orzan and Riaxor we stop for refreshments before returning to the ship.

We leave Ponta Delgada and journey to Feteiras. From here we head to Sete Cidades, the main crater of this extinct volcano. The return journey is made via the new road, stopping at the famous António Borges Botanical Garden, and a pineapple plantation.

During this tour see the attractions of the islands’ capital. In the centre of the town we see the Cenotaph, erected in memory of Vincentians who fought and died in WWI. You will visit the wood built Cathedral of the Assumption built in 1823, and heading north you make a stop at the Botanic Gardens, the oldest in the western hemisphere.

Drive through the capital of St George’s. We continue up the eastern side of the island, to the village of Marquis. Our next stop is in Grenville, before heading to Grand Etang, seeing magnificent green mountain ferns en route. We then travel through the quaint village of Vendome, to Annandale falls. After a short but steep walk, we will arrive at a paradise of rushing water and emerald greenery.

Visit Orchid World, home to five orchid houses set out in an impressively landscaped environment with waterfalls, fountains, a man-made stream, rock garden and grotto. We’ll drive to Pico dos Barcelos, continuing into the Socorridos Ravine. The road terminates at Eira da Serrado and a short walk will take us to Pico do Serrado; From this vantage-point we can see Curral das Freiras, and island’s highest peaks of Pico Ruivo and Pico do Arieiro. We’ll return through Santo Antonio, where a stop will be made en route to taste Madeira wine.

From the port you will drive up to El Castro for panoramic views over the city, bay and estuary. Then on to the seaside medieval town of Bayona La Real. which was the first European town to receive news of the discovery of America in 1493. La Coruña is a city of a thousand contrasts and surprises, including a wealth of impressive architectural styles, ranging from Roman to baroque. Take time to admire the many medieval churches and palaces, and be sure to visit La Coruña‘s most famous attraction: the Tower of Hercules.

Ponta Delgada, Azores

Sitting in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the breathtaking Azores are a real delight to visit. We will call at Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel, boasting stunning Portuguese architecture and flower-filled parks. Outside of the city, dramatic rocky cliffs descend to pristine bays and gorgeous beaches.

Antigua

Our first Caribbean port of call, Antigua, offers miles of wonderful sandy beaches and coves, as well as a variety of colourful birdlife. The island is laden with colonial atmosphere, ranging from the old stone windmills of long-abandoned sugar plantations, to the renovated naval base of Nelson’s Dockyard. As you approach the island, admire the magnificently evocative baroque towers of St. John's Cathedral, dating back to 1845.

St. Kitts

The fertile island of St. Kitts is a land of rain forests, tropical flowers and abundant sugar cane. Take a stroll around the charming colonial streets and shops of the capital: Basseterre, tour the island or visit Brimstone Hill Fort. You may also wish to join an optional excursion to St Kitts’ Sister Isle, Nevis.

Guadeloupe

Renowned for its spirited blend of French and African influences, the Caribbean archipelago of Guadeloupe combines beautiful palm-fringed beaches with modern cities and expansive rainforests. We will call at the gracious town of Pointe-à-Pitre, decorated in Gallic style but spiced with an exotic Creole flavour. Be sure to sample one of the many island specialities including stuffed crab, washed down with a glass of refreshing Rum punch.

St. Lucia

Few islands in the Caribbean are more beautiful than St. Lucia; the ‘Jewel of the Windward Islands’. The range of scenery here is breathtaking, with the dramatic twin volcanic peaks, the Pitons, soaring 2,000 feet up from the sea and magnificent rainforests boasting wild orchids, giant ferns and tropical wildlife. There are also many unspoilt beaches, sheltered by spectacular coral reefs. Away from St. Lucia’s idyllic beaches, welcoming open-air markets offer a variety of goods, ranging from fresh fruit to unique woodcarvings and handicrafts.

Bequia, the Grenadines

Located just nine miles south of St. Vincent, Bequia is the largest of the Grenadine Islands, fringed by golden, sandy beaches, with the tranquil Caribbean Sea gently lapping against the shore. It is an island orientated to the sea, retaining age-old traditions of boat building, whaling and fishing. Admiralty Bay, the island’s natural harbour, is a favourite haven for international yachtsmen in search of a welcoming winter retreat.

St. Vincent, the Grenadines

The tiny island of St. Vincent is part of the beautiful Grenadine archipelago, with a mountainous coastline dotted with beautiful black and white sandy beaches. Its clear waters are perfect for snorkelling and diving.

The rich aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves hover over the fertile, volcanic hills of Grenada, renowned as the ‘Spice Island’. Its picturesque capital, St. George’s, has long enjoyed the reputation of having the prettiest harbour in the Caribbean, with terraces of pale, colour-washed houses and cheerful red roofs. Much of the town’s charm results from the blend of two colonial cultures, which are reflected in typical 18th century French provincial houses and English Georgian architecture. Around the island, the scenery is equally appealing with the mountainous interior rising from a rugged coast blessed with dazzling white beaches.

With miles of crystal-white sands graced by towering palms, sparkling turquoise waters and an idyllic atmosphere, the very English island of Barbados is the perfect place to enjoy you last day in the Caribbean. Blessed by a climate that is almost perfect all year round, this sub-tropical island is known as the ‘Floating Garden of the Atlantic’ because of its abundance of flora, including wild orchids, and stunning scenery. Vigo, Spain

TThe attractive seaport of Vigo is situated on the south-eastern shore of Vigo Bay, one of the finest of the Galician Fjords, extending 18 miles inland into picturesque countryside.

Special Note

3rd and 4th persons occupying a cabin
In addition to our designated three and four berth cabins, we have arranged for the third and fourth berths in higher grade cabins to be sold for an incredible price. If you book a twin bed outside cabin of Grade 6 or above, a third person can occupy your cabin for a great-value price(upper-berth). In a Grade 5 cabin and above, a third and a fourth person can join for the entire duration of the cruise for an excellent price! (Please note that this does not apply to Grade 4 cabins.)

Please note:

  • Inside cabins rely on artificial light
  • Outside cabins have a porthole (deck 4), window (deck 5 and above)
  • The term berth refers to an upper and lower bunk style bed
  • The upper berth is accessed via a small ladder
  • Two bedded cabins have two lower beds
  • Some two bedded cabins have additional fold-away upper berths which are not used when the cabin is occupied by two passengers
  • Third and fourth passengers sharing cabins are always accommodated in upper berths
  • All cabins are non-smoking
