The region of Loire symbolises all that is great about France. From fabulous châteaux with fairy tale turrets and crisp Vouvray wines, to fragrant orchards and fine cheeses, it really is a land of romance, beauty and intrigue.

Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Flight to Paris. Transfer to your hotel in Tours for three nights.

Day 2 - Morning at leisure in Tours, the ancient capital of France. Discover cafes, boutiques, galleries and quaint streets with half-timbered houses, hidden courtyards and crooked towers. In the afternoon, join the included trip to the extraordinary and very feminine Château Chenonceau on the river Cher.

Day 3 - Join our optional Châteaux d’Amboise and de Chambord excursion, providing the opportunity to visit some the most stunning châteaux in Loire.

Day 4 - Transfer to Paris for return flight to the UK.

See some of the most stunning châteaux in Loire. Visit Amboise, where François I was brought up and Charles VIII lived and died. See the Chapel of St Hubert, the resting place of to Leonardo da Vinci, before heading to Chambord, created by the best craftsmen from France and Italy who turned the fantastical ideas dreamt up by the extravagant François 1 into dreamlike reality.

The largest castle in the Loire, Chambord has over 400 rooms, 365 fireplaces and beautiful conical towers, chimneys, pinnacles and turrets. So impressive are Chambord’s eleven different kinds of towers and three varied styles of chimneys that its rooftops are often compared to the skyline of an ancient town. Don’t forget your camera.
