The Purpose of the job
The Reservations Centre is a fast moving environment, dealing with a diverse range of customers booking Coach, Flight or Ocean Cruising Holidays. Every call is different which makes the job varied and interesting. Your key aim is to provide a high level of customer service & create opportunities for customers to feel comfortable in booking holidays with Travelscope and to offer additional options for customers to purchase.
Accountabilities
- Answer incoming telephone calls in line with Key Performance Indicators & Targets
- Receive and handle all enquiries and bookings in an efficient, timely and courteous manner, taking every opportunity to maximise number of bookings, cross-selling as appropriate
- Maximise revenue on each booking by selling insurance and excursion packages etc
- Secure business by credit/debit card sales whenever possible
- Liaise with all other departments where necessary to answer and process customer queries quickly and efficiently
- Administer tour amendments/cancellations if required
- Entry of daily booking forms onto reservations system as and when required
- Assistance may be required in other aspects of the department
- Attend weekly training
- Attend educational or training course as required
- Any other duties specified by your Supervisor or Manager
Skills and Experience
- Good telephone manner is essential. Reservations experience is not required, the desire to succeed and provide exceptional levels of service is a must
- Competent user of Microsoft packages
- General customer service or transferable life skills are needed
