This is an excellent way to see the island of Rarotonga and to appreciate the islands culture and history. You will visit such sites as Ngatangiia Harbor, the historical back road, and see ceremonial sites such as Arai Te Tonga, old church buildings. Pass through plantations where amongst others, citrus fruits, bananas, tapioca, pawpaw and toro are cultivated. There will also be an opportunity to purchase locally made products and souvenirs.

Suva, Fiji

Suva

Sun-kissed, unique and unspoiled, the Fiji Islands offer 1,000 miles of beautiful white sand beaches, beautiful coral gardens and turquoise lagoons. Fijis capital city, Suva, is one of the South Pacifics largest and most sophisticated cities, with many post-colonial buildings and the Fiji Museum, located in the Thurston Gardens. Suva is also home to Fijis largest building, Suva Central, and the famous Suva City Library, built in 1909, is well worth a visit.

Alofi, Niue

Affectionately known as the Rock of Polynesia, Niue is reputedly the worlds largest coral island, with dramatic coastal scenery, amazing cave formations and many exotic birds and butterflies.

Alofi is the picturesque capital city of Niue, its simplicity adds much to its peaceful character, with one main sight: Fale Fono (Parliament Buildings), which has an interesting display of tapa cloth. Perhaps take a refreshing swim in the water here, and browse the few shops.

Rarotonga, Cook Islands

Cook Islands

Capital of the Cook Islands, Rarotonga is dominated by high mountain peaks, from which lush rainforests cascade to inviting white sands and clear turquoise waters. Head to one of the picturesque lagoons for great swimming, boating and snorkelling opportunities.

Papeete, Tahiti

Tahiti

Imagine incredible tropical blooms, amazing sunsets and waters speckled with striking shades of blue and green. Then theres the compelling French influence, especially with regard to Papeetes fabulous cuisine and great shopping; good buys include black pearls and designer fragrances.

Attractions include taking a stroll along the waterfront esplanade, Bougaunville Park, seeing the beautiful Cathedral of Notre Dame of Papeete and the Mairie (town hall). If its shopping youre after, then head to the March Papeete, this municipal market is a delight to explore.

Nuku Hiva, Marquesas Islands

Largest of the hauntingly beautiful Marquesas Islands, Nuku Hiva is known for its towering peaks, secluded coves, lush valleys and fjord-like bays. We will call at its capital, Taiohae, where you might like to visit the Herman Melville memorial or climb Mt. Muake, standing proud at an amazing 864 meters high.

Guayaquil, Ecuador

Known as the Pearl of the Pacific, the cosmopolitan coastal city of Guayaquil offers many attractions. Head to the historic Las Peas Neighbourhood and discover a number of art galleries, visit intriguing markets in search of local crafts, jewellery and paintings, or stroll the citys main park where you can see live iguanas.

Must-see attractions include the El Palacio Municipal, Parque Centenario and Mercado Artesanal, the largest artisan market in the city. Sampling the local cuisine is an experience not be missed, with dishes such as Encebollado, a seafood soup; fried pork Fritada; and pan de yucca, delicious bread made from the spiky yucca plant.

Special Note

3rd and 4th persons occupying a cabin
In addition to our designated three and four berth cabins, we have arranged for the third and fourth berths in higher grade cabins to be sold for an incredible price. If you book a twin bed outside cabin of Grade 6 or above, a third person can occupy your cabin for a great-value price(upper-berth). In a Grade 5 cabin and above, a third and a fourth person can join for the entire duration of the cruise for an excellent price! (Please note that this does not apply to Grade 4 cabins.)

Please note:

  • Inside cabins rely on artificial light
  • Outside cabins have a porthole (deck 4), window (deck 5 and above)
  • The term berth refers to an upper and lower bunk style bed
  • The upper berth is accessed via a small ladder
  • Two bedded cabins have two lower beds
  • Some two bedded cabins have additional fold-away upper berths which are not used when the cabin is occupied by two passengers
  • Third and fourth passengers sharing cabins are always accommodated in upper berths
  • All cabins are non-smoking
