Hiroshima & The Torii Gate

First to the city of Hiroshima, synonymous with the horrific events of 6 August 1945, where you can visit the poignant Peace Memorial Park. Then we will take a short ferry ride to Miyajima Island. This wooded, mountainous island has been sacred to the Japanese for many years, and the picturesque bay with its famous ‘floating’ red Torii Gate remains one of the most photographed scenes in Japan.
