
First to the ancient Roman city of Arles, complete with Roman amphitheatre and baths. Arles is also gateway to the 346,000 acres of wetlands, pastures, dunes and salt flats which make up the Camargue. A journey south through this untamed wilderness, famous for its black bulls, white horses and pink flamingos will take you to Saintes-Maries de-la-Mer and Aigues Mortes.
