Cairo, The Pyramids & a 5* Nile Cruise
Day 1
Transfer to your 5* hotel after flying into Cairo, the capital of Egypt, and the largest city in Africa. Famous for being home to awe-inspiring pyramids, Cairo is a real melting pot of tradition, culture and heritage.
Day 2
After a buffet breakfast, we include a full-day guided tour of the pyramids, with lunch and all entrance fees. Experience the spectacular Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx of Giza, and the Great Pyramid of Cheops.
Later we visit the fascinating four-mile burial site at Saqqara, which is almost 3,000 years old. Tonight, enjoy our optional Cairo cruise with dinner.
Day 3
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the short flight to Aswan, described by many as the most beautiful of Egypt’s river cities. After a spot of sightseeing we will board the 5* Beau Soleil for the start of your memorable three-night Nile cruise.
Days 4-5
These days will be spent cruising the Nile. As well as wonderful scenery and wildlife, such as crocodiles and eagles, sightseeing includes the High Dam and Lake Nasser, the Obelisk, Temple of Philae, Temple of Kom-Ombo and the Ptolemaic Temple at Edfu, renowned as the best preserved in Egypt.
Day 6
This morning we arrive at Luxor, resting on the site of the ancient Egyptian capital of Thebes and offering the country's richest collection of ruins.
After disembarkation, you will visit the impressive Valley of the Kings, Luxor Temple, as well as Karnak Temple. Included is a trip to the most fabulous necropolis on earth, where the tomb of Tutankhamen was discovered in 1922.
Later this evening, we transfer to Luxor airport for the flight back to Cairo.
Day 7
Today we include a full-day tour of Cairo, taking you to the world-famous Egyptian Museum and the Citadel, located at the foot of the Mukattam Hills, which dominate the city of Cairo.
Day 8
We must bid farewell to our hosts and transfer to the airport in time for the return flight to the UK.
