Christmas in the Tyrol
DAY ONE Our holiday begins with selected early morning coach pick-ups and a journey to Dover/Folkestone for the 8.30am ferry/Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. Alternatively, we offer overnight hotel accommodation close to port for those who would prefer. After disembarkation, our coach continues through France and into Germany, where accommodation has been reserved, on a bed and breakfast basis, in rooms with private facilities.
DAY TWO After breakfast, we continue southwards across the border into the Austrian Tyrol and our chosen resort. Arrival will be in time for you to unpack and unwind, before joining the other guests in the restaurant for your included three-course evening meal.
DAY THREE, CHRISTMAS EVE After a continental breakfast this morning, you are at leisure to explore your surroundings. To see more of this beautiful region, join our optional excursion to Salzburg, where you’ll have the opportunity to wander around the town and enjoy the special Chistmas atmosphere. Return to the hotel will be in time for your included evening meal in the restaurant, after which the festivities begin in earnest. Should you wish, you can join carol singing around the tree, and attend a nearby church for Midnight Mass with the locals.
DAY FOUR, CHRISTMAS DAY After breakfast, prepare yourself for what could be one of the highlights of your holiday; an optional magical sleigh ride through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Tyrol. While we’re ‘riding through the snow’, our friendly hosts will be preparing Christmas lunch, which will be served upon our return. This afternoon, you are free to relax; perhaps explore the beautiful Alpine surroundings. Later this evening, you will be able to enjoy a buffet supper, followed by music and dancing.
DAY FIVE, BOXING DAY Today, you might like to join our optional Mayrhofen and Innsbruck excursion. Enjoy the exhilaration of travelling by old-style train from Jenbach through the Ziller Valley, arriving in Mayrhofen. We then continue to the Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck, where you will have time at leisure, before returning to the hotel in time for our included evening meal.
DAY SIX Today we bid farewell to our friendly hosts. Our coach will depart in the late morning, continuing to our overnight, hotel on a bed and breakfast basis, in the Rhineland area of Germany.
DAY SEVEN After breakfast, we continue to Calais in time for the 5.45pm ferry/Eurotunnel crossing to Dover/Folkestone. Upon arrival, we will return you to your original departure point.
