French Riviera & beautiful Burgundy

Soak up the sun-drenched charms of Burgundy and the Côte d’Azur on this wonderful winter getaway, complete with four glorious nights in the French Riviera’s warmest and perhaps most beautiful town and visits to the Italian Riviera, Dijon and Beaune, the historic wine capital of Burgundy.

Itinerary

Day 1 Selected early morning coach pick-ups and P&O crossings to Calais, continuing through the vine-cloaked and châteaux-dotted hills of Burgundy to Beaune for an overnight stay.

Day 2 We travel south towards Lyon, down the celebrated sunshine motorway into the light and landscapes of Provence, continuing east to Nice and the belle époque resort of Menton for a four-night stay with breakfast.

Day 3 Time at leisure in Menton, known as the Pearl of the Côte d’Azur for its Mediterranean climate, subtropical gardens and lemon groves. Stroll along the Promenade du Soleil, where there’s a covered market, shops, restaurants and bars, or head to Place Saint Michel for the beautiful Cathedral of Saint Michel. This evening enjoy an optional excursion to Monte Carlo.

Day 4 After breakfast we travel across the border to the town of Ventimiglia on Italy’s Ligurian Riviera. Admire the medieval old town, stunning cathedral and palazzo-lined Giuseppe Verdi street. In the afternoon, join an optional excursion to Eze Village and the Parfumerie Galimard.

Day 5 Take the opportunity to see royal Monaco by day, where the Hollywood-esque magic of Grace Kelly’s marriage to Prince Ranier in 1956 still lingers. This optional excursion also includes time in the millionaires’ playground, Antibes.

Day 6 We bid adieu to the South of France and head north to Dijon, the capital of Burgundy, for one night, evening meal and breakfast included.

Day 7 Today, we head to Calais in time for the 6.30pm ferry crossing to Dover. On arrival, you’ll be returned to your original departure point.

Please note Passengers taking the overnight crossing from the north of England or Scotland will depart the day before and return to their original departure point a day later.
