Germany's Christmas Markets Itinerary
DAY ONE
Your holiday begins with selected early morning coach pick-ups and a journey to Dover/Folkestone for the 9.00am Channel crossing to Calais. We will then continue through France to Germany, arriving during the course of the evening. Those who have pre-booked their evening meal will enjoy their three-course meal in the hotel’s restaurant. Remember, we offer overnight hotel accommodation close to port for those who would prefer.
DAY TWO
After breakfast this morning, you will have the day at leisure, or you can join our included excursion to the traditional German Christmas markets.
Experience a traditional Christmas spirit untouched by commercialism at either Cochem Bernkastel, Koblenz or Trier’s Christmas markets. Follow your nose and you will find hot chestnuts, spicy gingerbread, marzipan cookies and glühwein (warm mulled wine). Don’t forget to wander around the beautiful stalls where you will find toys, woodcarvings, candles and many more fantastic, exclusive Christmas gifts.
You’ll then return to your hotel in time for your three-course evening meal, if you have pre-booked the package. After dinner, there is also the opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled party cruise on the Rhine or Moselle.
DAY THREE
Today, take advantage of our exciting optional excursion to Rüdesheim and the Rhine Gorge. On arrival back at the hotel the optional meal is served to those of you who have booked.
DAY FOUR
After breakfast, we must rejoin the coach for the journey home. Time permitting, we will make an en route visit to a hypermarket/ wine warehouse, where there will be an opportunity to stock up on beer and wine. We will then continue to Calais for the return 5.45pm Channel crossing to Dover/Folkestone.
On arrival, you will be returned to your original pick up point.
Please note: the itinerary for days two and three may be reversed for operational reasons. The actual Christmas markets visited will be advised nearer to the time of travel and will be decided by the location of your hotel. Crossing details are correct at the time of printing but may be subject to change. Your Tour Manager may also arrange an optional wine tasting evening in resort, and will advise of the details on arrival at your hotel.
