Loughrigg Tarn

Wordsworth called Loughrigg Tarn a ‘most beautiful example’ of English countryside, and many echo his opinion. The view north-west to the Langdale Pikes provides a scenic setting for the clear waters of the tarn, and in the summer months shallow waters become covered in a carpet of beautiful water lilies, no doubt what attracted filmmakers to use this location in the making of ‘Miss Potter’.
