Rothenburg & Dinkelsbühl
Our full day excursion begins with a visit to the delightful town of Rothenburg, the best-preserved medieval city in Europe. Discover old-paved streets, massive fortifications, imposing city walls and perfectly preserved old houses. There will be the opportunity to visit the Christmas market, said to be one of the most atmospheric in Germany, and the delightful Christmas Shop, a wonderful treasure trove of traditional German ornaments and toys, for which the town is famous.
From Rothenburg, we continue to the little town of Dinkelsbühl. Surrounded by 10th century walls, the town looks as if it belongs in a fairy tale. The cobblestone streets are lined with fine 16th century houses, many with carvings and paintings depicting biblical and mythological themes. While here you will have time at leisure to explore the Christmas market in the historical Spitalhof, said to be the prettiest along the ‘Romantic Road’.
