Hong Kong Shopping

Day 1 Join your direct overnight flight to Hong Kong.

Day 2 On arrival, transfer to your hotel for a four-night stay. Getting around couldn’t be easier, as you’ll be staying at the central Charterhouse or Newton Hotel located in the main retail district of Wan Chai and Causeway Bay with easy access to public transport.

Day 3 You have today free to explore the weird and wonderful shops around Hong Kong. Take time to visit the popular Japanese-style emporiums, such as Seibu or SOGO and be enthralled by their gourmet food halls, exclusive boutiques and quirky, colourful displays.

You may wish to join our optional half-day excursion to Kowloon and the New Territories, where you can take a ferry trip across Hong Kong Harbour; see the Buddhist Statues in the bamboo and flower-shrouded Chuk lam Sim Yuen Monastery; and visit Tai Mo Shan peak for excellent views over the territory.

This evening, why not join our optional harbour cruise, and enjoy a cruise along Victoria Harbour with a fabulous buffet dinner, live music and dancing. On the return there is a ride to the top of Victoria Peak for spectacular views of Hong Kong, then a tram ride down the Peak with panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and the Kowloon Peninsula.

Day 4 Enjoy another day at leisure in Hong Kong. A shoppers’ paradise, the streets are bursting with contemporary malls, famous markets and oriental boutiques, selling everything from Chinese herbs to Buddhist paraphernalia. Make sure you check out the famous Jade Market: symbolising long health and prosperity, jade is a valued stone in China.

Alternatively, take advantage of our fantastic optional excursions, including the popular gateway to China tour. Take a hovercraft to Shekou to see a Terracotta Warriors and Horse exhibition, and visit a local kindergarten, followed by lunch in a Chinese restaurant. Onwards to Guangzhou, the largest and most prosperous city in Southern China. Return to Hong Kong by train.

Day 5 You have today free to further explore the highlights of Hong Kong, and perhaps get in some last-minute shopping.

Day 6 Transfer to the airport for an early morning flight to the UK.
