New Year in Brussels

DAY ONE

Your holiday begins with selected early morning coach pick-ups and a journey to Dover/Folkestone for the 9.30am ferry/ Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. Remember, we offer convenient overnight hotel accommodation close to port for those who would prefer this option.

Upon arrival we will continue through France and into Belgium, stopping en route in Bruges. From Bruges you may wish to join our optional excursion to explore Ostend’s Christmas Markets. Alternatively, passengers will have free time in Bruges. Following an early evening arrival in Brussels, and check-in at your hotel, the rest of the evening is yours to relax and enjoy your surroundings.

DAY TWO, NEW YEAR’S EVE

After breakfast this morning, we include a coach transfer to Brussels where you will have the day at leisure. To experience the best of this wonderful city, be sure to join our optional city tour.

Sprinkled with parks, gardens and elegant town houses, Brussels is greener than most European capital cities and has many hidden charms beyond its famous Grand Place. As well as a number of fine museums and churches, the city boasts quaint cobbled streets, great shopping opportunities and many food outlets where you will be able to sample the local specialities; especially the chocolate and beer. After the tour you will have the rest of the day at leisure, or you may wish to visit Mini-Europe, where you can see many of Europe’s most famous cities and landmarks, in miniature. (Entrance not included.)

This evening, you are free to join the New Year celebrations in the city and welcome in 2008 in style. Once the party is over, our coach will transfer you back to the hotel if you wish. Please note: there are no scheduled transfers back to your hotel during the day.

DAY THREE, NEW YEAR'S DAY

Happy New Year! After breakfast, we will rejoin the coach and return to the beautiful medieval city of Bruges, famous for its picturesque canals and 12th–13th century square with its quaint cafes and towering belfry. Don’t miss the local lacemakers as they sit in the open doorways to their homes along the back streets.

Later this afternoon, we rejoin the coach for the journey to Calais and the 6.45pm ferry/ Eurotunnel crossing to Dover/Folkestone. On arrival, you will be returned to your original pick-up point.

Please note: crossing details are correct at time of publish but may be subject to change.
