Rocky Mountaineer itinerary

Day 1 Join the direct flight to Vancouver and transfer to your central hotel for three nights.

Day 2 Enjoy a great start to your Canadian holiday with our optional Vancouver city tour and north shore excursion. This full-day trip takes in the city’s most famous sights including the Lions Gate Bridge, Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain.

Day 3 Today, join our optional excursion to Vancouver Island and the Butchart Gardens.

Day 4 All aboard the Rocky Mountaineer! Today you’ll join the train in Vancouver and begin your fantastic two-day journey along the Yellowhead Route to Jasper, with an included overnight stay at Kamloops. As you travel along the Yellowhead Route, you’ll see many natural wonders including the majestic Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, the spectacular Fraser and Thompson Canyons, the awe-inspiring Pyramid Falls and Yellowhead Pass.

Day 5 Back on board the Rocky Mountaineer, we continue, to the beautiful resort of Jasper for a one-night stay.

Day 6 Today we head for Banff, Canada’s first national park. Travelling via the famous Icefields Parkway, we stop at beautiful Lake Louise for an en route visit. On arrival in Banff, we bid farewell to the Rocky Mountaineer and transfer to our hotel for two nights.

Day 7 Today you’re free to explore Banff or join our optional Banff sightseeing tour, which includes a cable car ride up Sulphur Mountain. This afternoon, try our optional helicopter ride over the incredible Rockies.

Day 8 Morning at leisure in Banff. Later transfer to Calgary Airport for the overnight flight to the UK.

Day 9 Arrival in the UK.

Please note: this itinerary applies to departures from Gatwick and Manchester on 5th and 12 April 2008. Departures on 26 April 2008 from Gatwick operate in reverse.

Departures from Manchester during May, June, September & October (and from Glasgow 9 October 2008) spend four nights in Vancouver, and can join the optional Whistler Resort excursion.

Departures from Gatwick in May, June, September & October 2008 will spend four nights in Vancouver and two nights in Jasper, and can join the optional Jasper sightseeing and Whistler Resort excursions. The actual itinerary will operate in reverse.

Departures from Glasgow on 2 April 2008, will spend two nights in Jasper, three nights in Vancouver and two nights in Victoria, and can join the Jasper sightseeing, Whistler Resort and Butchart Gardens optional excursions. The actual itinerary will operate in reverse.
