The full story....

Former New Zealand rugby boss David Moffett has said that New Zealand has an unhealthy obsession with the Rugby World Cup and that the Union is putting too much at risk in it's quest to win it.

Moffett was at a rugby marketing conference last week and said that the union was focusing too much on the World Cup.

Moffett said taking 22 All Blacks out of the first seven rounds of the Super 14 "shortchanged the fans" and put enormous pressure on the team to win.

Moffett said that he believed the NZRU should have resisted Graham Henry's request and put the strongest players in the Super 14.

"And what happens if New Zealand doesn't win it?" he added.
