 Strasbourg New Year Rhine river cruise itineraryDay 1 Breisach Selected early morning pick-ups and journey to Dover/Folkestone for the 7.00am ferry/Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. Alternatively, join at port or at the Holiday Inn Ashford North. On arrival in Calais, your coach will continue through France, Belgium and Germany to the charming town of Breisach at the foot of the Kaiserstuhl where you’ll join cruise vessel MS Hispania in time for your welcome drink. Day 2 Breisach - Strasbourg New Year’s Eve: during breakfast we depart Breisach for Strasbourg. This cosmopolitan city has become famous for being one of the two centres for the European Union, and with its medieval Gothic timber-framed houses this beautiful city is a delight to explore. Join our included Strasbourg city tour to discover the very best this city offers. As the countdown to the New Year reaches its climax, join our New Year celebrations on board your vessel. You’ll have a fantastic time enjoying live music and dancing as we count down to 2009. Day 3 Strasbourg - Mannheim New Year’s Day: after last night’s celebrations we will spend the morning leisurely cruising down one of Europe’s greatest rivers; sit back and enjoy the views on the way to Mannheim, the second largest river port in Germany. In the afternoon, join us on the included excursion to Heidelberg. Take a stroll through the cobbled streets and along the river, or visit the pink sandstone castle and discover why this university city has been the inspiration for many artists. Day 4 Mannheim After breakfast, we will depart Mannheim for the journey through Germany and France to Calais and the 5.30pm ferry/Eurotunnel crossing to Dover/Folkestone. You will then be returned to your original departure point as we head homewards after a truly wonderful New Year’s trip. Timings are correct at time of publish but may be subject to change.
