Travelscope supports sustainable tourism
At Travelscope, we are aware of our responsibilities to the environment and to sustainability, both home and abroad. Our new purpose-built offices were designed with the latest initiatives in energy conservation very much in mind.
An overview of our policies:
- The company and its print and logistics supplier only uses paper suppliers with a replacement tree-planting programme in place
- We encourage our customers to receive brochures electronically. We are also actively pursuing local initiatives with the Woodland Trust
- Travelscope encourages the use of local ports and airports thus reducing the need for passengers to drive long distances
- Travelscope provides free coach transfers from local pick-up points, usually early morning collections, thereby travelling on less crowded roads and reducing the number of cars on the road
- Travelscope use smaller cruise vessels so ships can access small ports and harbours reducing the length of coaching excursions, as well as enabling passengers to explore on foot or via local public transport
- We encourage our overseas suppliers to use best practice to conserve natural resources and minimise pollution
- Our escorted tours are operated in a way that is respectful of the local culture, and its traditions, religions and heritage
- We encourage our travelling customers to contribute to a ‘carbon balancing’ programme, i.e. to offset the carbon emitted in their travel
