DAY 1:
Fly from your chosen airport to Amsterdam. Here you will join your connecting overnight flight to Bangkok.
DAY 2:
Morning arrival in Bangkok where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a two night stay on a bed and buffet breakfast basis. This afternoon we include a city tour that features the Temples of the Golden Buddha and the Reclining Buddha, followed by time at leisure for you to explore. This evening, you might like to enjoy the city’s vibrant nightlife!
DAY 3:
A day at leisure in Bangkok or join our fantastic optional excursion to the Floating Market & Rose Garden.
DAY 4:
Today you are again free to enjoy the many wonders of Bangkok, but you might like to join our excellent optional “River Kwai” excursion, taking you to Kanchanaburi to see the infamous bridge and start of the ‘Death Railway’. This excursion also includes a train ride to Namtoke where we have included lunch. For those who wish to round off their day in real style, we also offer an optional Thai Dinner Dance excursion, with a traditional Thai meal and colourful display of dancing. Later this evening we will transfer to the airport for an early morning flight to Peking where we include three nights’ hotel accommodation.
DAY 5:
After breakfast we include a full day tour to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, including lunch. Covering 100 acres and bordered by the Qianmen Gate, Great Hall of the People and Gate of Heavenly Peace, Tiananmen Square is the world’s largest public square and a breathtaking sight. We then continue to The Forbidden City, a vast complex of palaces and pavilions that is an architectural masterpiece.
DAY 6:
Today, we include a full day tour of the Great Wall at Badaling. It’s hard to take everything in as you stand on this Wonder of the World that follows the contours of the land for some 3000 miles across China. We also visit the Ming Tombs, the burial place of 13 emperors.
DAY 7:
This morning we will visit the beautiful Temple of Heaven, followed by an afternoon visit to the 800 year old Summer Palace, the largest and best preserved of all imperial palace gardens. Later today, transfer to the airport for an evening flight to Xi’an for two nights.
DAY 8:
Today we include a full day tour of the historic city of Xi’an, which includes the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi and his terracotta warriors and horses. This lifesize army of 8000 warriors, with no two the same, was built to guard the Emperor’s tomb and it still stands guard today, more than 2000 years on. Other amazing sights you’ll see on the tour include the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the city walls and Stone Forest.
DAY 9:
Join a morning flight to Bangkok and a transfer to Cha-Am for a two night stay at a beachfront hotel.
DAY 10:
Today you are at leisure in this idyllic, tropical paradise, where warm, clear waters lap the shores of white, palm fringed beaches. Alternatively, we offer an optional excursion to Discover Hua Hin & Cha-Am, including the Queen’s Project Animal Sanctuary. This evening, join our optional Hua Hin by Night excursion and enjoy dinner at a beachside restaurant.
DAY 11:
A chance to take advantage of our full day optional excursion to the breathtaking Petchaburi Summer Palace, including lunch. Later this evening, we must bid farewell and transfer to Bangkok Airport to join the return overnight flight to Amsterdam. (Please note that rooms have to be vacated by midday.)
DAY 12:
Morning arrival in Amsterdam, where you will join a connecting flight to the UK.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATION
Nights 2 - 3: Century Park Hotel, Bangkok
This 3* hotel is centrally located in the shopping district of Pratunam. Facilities include a swimming pool, gym, cocktail lounge, lobby bar and restaurants serving western and oriental cuisine. All rooms have private facilities, TV, air-conditioning, radio, mini bar and telephone.
Nights 4 - 6: Harbour Plaza Hotel, Peking
The 4* Harbour Plaza Hotel is well situated in the rapidly developing Chao Yang District of Peking, with facilities including a choice of restaurants and bars, fitness centre and beauty salon. All rooms are air-conditioned and have full private facilities, TV, telephone, hairdryer, mini bar and tea/coffee maker.
Nights 7 & 8: Tangcheng Hotel, Xi’an
This 3* hotel is centrally located in the cultural district of the city, surrounded by beautiful gardens and boasting facilities including restaurants, lounge bar, coffee shop, disco, games room, sauna and beauty salon. All rooms are air-conditioned and have en suite facilities, TV, telephone and tea/coffee maker.
Nights 9 & 10: Regent Beach Resort, Cha-Am
The 3* Regent Resort boasts excellent facilities in an ideal beach setting, including three swimming pools, Jacuzzi, choice of restaurants, 24 hour coffee shop, health club, squash courts, table tennis, badminton and cycle hire. Watersports are available on the beach, and there is a large shopping complex and evening entertainment to enjoy during your stay. All rooms have private facilities, air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, mini bar and balcony.
