 Valkenburg's Christmas Markets Itinerary
Day One
Your holiday begins with selected early morning coach pick-ups, and a journey to Dover/Folkestone for the 9.00am ferry/Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. After disembarking, our coach continues through France, Belgium and into Holland, where arrival at your hotel will be in the course of the early evening. After time to freshen up you’ll enjoy a three-course meal in the hotel’s restaurant if you have booked the package. Day Two After breakfast, you’re free to enjoy the local area, or to join an optional excursion to the perfectly preserved city of Maastricht. Beneath the towering churches, you’ll find lively squares, ancient ramparts and a maze of medieval streets. In the afternoon, we return to Valkenburg where you can visit the Christmas Markets located in the famous candlelit caves. This evening, those who have booked the meal package will be served a three-course meal at the hotel. Day Three Following breakfast, join our optional excursion to Cologne, home to some of Germany’s biggest and best Christmas Markets. Here, the markets spread across several of the city’s squares, giving you a seasonal view of Cologne’s famous cathedral. Our excursion continues with a visit to Aachen, one time imperial city and residence of kings and emperors, and today home to Christmas Markets of its own. Those who have booked the meal package will enjoy a three-course meal at the hotel. Day Four Unfortunately the time has come to bid farewell to our friendly Dutch hosts. Our coach will depart after breakfast and travel back through Holland, into Belgium making a short en-route visit to Bruges. We will then continue to Calais for the 5.45pm ferry/Eurotunnel crossing to Dover. Upon arrival, we will return you to your original departure point. Please note: nominal entrance fees to Valkenburg’s caves are not included. Crossing details are correct at the time of printing but may be subject to change.
