 4* Venetian lagoon river cruise itineraryDay 1 Venice Your holiday begins when you join the flight from your chosen airport to Venice. On arrival, join the coach for the transfer to your vessel, the 4* MS Michelangelo. After the stevedores have safely stowed your luggage, the vessel will depart San Basilio/Santa Marta quay and gently cruise to our overnight berth at Seven Martyrs quay. Later on, meet the crew at a welcome cocktail reception, followed by dinner and an evening free in Venice. Day 2 Venice - Burano - Murano - Venice After breakfast on board, sit back and relax as we spend the morning cruising on the glorious Venetian Lagoon. We return to Venice for lunch, after which there’s free time in Venice, or join our private sightseeing optional excursion by boat to the islands of Burano and Murano, famous for lacework and ancestral glass blowing respectively. Return to the vessel will be in time for the dinner dance. Day 3 Venice This morning, join us on an optional guided tour of the stunning Doge’s Palace and Piazza San Marco (St Mark’s Square). Return to the ship for lunch followed by a free afternoon in Venice. After dinner on board, there’s another unforgettable evening free in Venice. If you fancy a cappuccino or Campari, head to the moonlit Piazza San Marco, a popular gathering place, and perhaps pop into the romantic 18th century Caffè Florian, where it’s said Casanova stopped for a quick coffee en route to quitting Venice after he’d escaped the prisons in the Doge’s Palace. Day 4 Venice - Chioggia - Venice During breakfast, the ship cruises across the magnificent Bay of Venice to Chioggia, an exquisite old port town which you’ll have time to explore. After lunch on board, we invite you on an optional excursion to Sant’Antonio di Padova’s city of Padua, so famous for art and pilgrimages. During the excursion, the Michelangelo cruises back to Venice, where you will rejoin it on your return from Padua, and where it remains berthed overnight. In the evening there’s dinner on board, followed by a glittering gala evening. Day 5 Venice After breakfast on board, disembark at the passenger terminal with memories to cherish, and join the coach for the transfer to Venice airport and the return flight to the UK.
