 4* Venice, the lagoon & the Po Delta river cruise itineraryDay 1 Venice Fly from your chosen airport to Venice. On arrival, transfer to the 4: MS Michelangelo. After the stevedores have safely stowed your luggage, the vessel will depart San Basilio/Santa Marta quay and gently cruise to our overnight berth at Seven Martyrs quay. Later on there’s a cocktail reception, dinner and an evening free in Venice. Day 2 Venice - Taglio di Po - Polesella Enjoy breakfast and lunch on board as we cruise towards Taglio di Po, where the Adriatic Sea joins Italy’s legendary Po River. On arrival, join our optional excursion to timeless Padua. After the excursion rejoin the vessel in Polesella, with an evening free to enjoy this town beside the Po. Day 3 Polesella - Ferrara - Polesella - Taglio di Po Today we drive across the fertile plain of Val Padana to visit medieval Ferrara, a Unesco World Heritage town that prospered under the powerful Este dynasty from 1260 to 1598. After lunch, join our included coach excursion to Verona, a truly fine Italian city of Romeo and Juliet fame. Rejoin the vessel in Polesella before sailing on to Taglio di Po. Gala dinner on board. Day 4 Taglio di Po - Chioggia - Venice During breakfast, the ship cruises to the exquisite old port town of Chioggia. After the visit, the MS Michelangelo cruises to Venice, where it remains berthed overnight. In the afternoon, join us on an optional guided tour of the stunning Doge’s Palace and Piazza San Marco (St Mark’s Square). After dinner, enjoy an evening sampling the charms of Venice. Day 5 Venice - Lagoon Islands - Venice Enjoy a morning free in Venice, or sit back as we charter a private boat and cruise the glorious Venetian Lagoon on an optional sightseeing tour to the islands of Burano and Murano, famous for lacework and ancestral glass blowing respectively. Return to the vessel at Venice’s Seven Martyrs quay and enjoy a free afternoon in Venice where an optional gondola ride is highly recommended, especially at our price. Return to the vessel in time for your evening meal and an evening free in shimmering Venice. Day 6 Venice During breakfast on board, the vessel cruises to San Basilio quay, where you’ll disembark and join the coach for the transfer to Venice airport and the return flight to the UK.
